Dr. Heidi Nichols-Johnson

I was raised on a farm/ranch near Stanley, ND, the youngest of 4 girls. I attended NDSU, earning my undergrad degree in 2000.

My interest in the dental field piqued while in Fargo when Dr. Byrum Cartwright allowed me to volunteer, and eventually, work in his dental office. It was an invaluable opportunity that gave me an up-close and personal feel for a dental career. I earned my dental degree at the University of Minnesota in 2004 and returned home to ND. I was fortunate to be welcomed into practice by Dr. Leonard Garceau here in Bismarck. I will forever cherish the opportunity to begin my career and grow my clientele with Dakota Family Dental. In 2015, I opened up Modern Smiles, and thanks to a wonderful team, it has been a dream come true. We are team that has become passionate about caring for people, not just their smiles! I love what I do and the team I work with; our belly laughs are the best!

My husband, Ryan, and I have 3 children: Jack, Caleb, and Ainsley. We will be "empty nesters" in the fall of 2026 & I'm not sure either of us are ready for it! We love spending time at the lake in the summers & still get to chase Ainsley to the rink for hockey in the winter. My free time is spent putting puzzles together, gardening, shopping & traveling to wherever my husband has convinced me to get away to!
